Child abuse and neglect prevention is one of the areas attracting the attention of the society, and it requires close and frequent cooperation between governmental institutions, NGOs and international organizations. The workshop will be presided over by Vietnam Partliamentary Committee for Culture, Education, Youth, Adolescents and Children (VPCCE).

The seminar will be held on 2 days (12th and 13th December 2011) at Melia Hotel, Hanoi. It is expected that 150 delegates will attend the workshop, among them, 1/3 come from VPCCE and other relevant partliamentary committees, the others come from mass organizations, local and international non-governmental organizations, as well as UN agencies. At the seminar, leaders of Vietnamese and international agencies will provide 7 presentations and also discuss about strategies and approaches to deal with child abuse and neglect issues in Vietnam.

The seminar is expected to provide the following outcomes: (1) A consensus statement of collaborative actions against child abuse and neglect in Vietnam; (2) A taskforce group is formulated and its 2012 action plan will be agreed.
